After 16 years of research Tom's biography of R.L.Y. "Lud" Peyton is now available.

A draft of the Charles Sims biography is complete. Sims, a Harrisonville lawyer, served in the Missouri General Assembly from 1848 to 1858, and in 1856 was a candidate for Lt. Governor. Had Sims not pulled out of the race he would have become Missouri's Governor. Sims' tragic death had Shakespearian overtones.

For the past three years Tom has devoted all of his time and efforts to uncovering the history of African Americans held in slavery in the Missouri Burnt District. He presently is writing a history of Independence, Missouri's enslaved community.

Presentations on his African American research are available. Four presentations have been given at the University of Missouri's Osher Educational Foundation.
